GFFE Student Grant Application Instructions
Thank you for your interest in a GFFE grant! If you’re a student, this is the right application to use, regardless of the size of your grant request.
This application will ask you to do two main things: describe your project and tell us how much money you need for your project.
Here are some tips for describing your project:
-
You can use bullet points, like this.
-
You’ll be asked how your project is innovative. We’re looking for how your project will bring something new and different to Guilford schools.
-
You’ll also be asked to tell us about the impact your project will have. We think of impact in terms of the number of students affected and the potential depth of change in the students.
-
Here are some examples of applications that demonstrated innovation and impact and were funded:
How to answer the budget question:

-
Research the cost of the items or services you need and back up your budget. Easiest way - load everything into an online shopping cart, print out a screenshot and attach it to your application. For other items or services, just tell us where you got your prices or estimates.

One last thing - You’ll need a teacher, counselor or administrator to supervise your project.
The finished application should be sent to minigrants@gffe.org. Please copy the person supervising your project. You should get a response in about two weeks.
**Before you start the application, please send a very brief (1-2 sentence) description of your idea to minigrants@gffe.org. A GFFE volunteer will respond to let you know if your idea falls within our mission and is eligible for funding. (Please note that approval is a separate step; eligibility does not guarantee funding.).**
If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, please email us at minigrants@gffe.org. We’re happy to help you every step of the way.
Thank you for applying for a GFFE Student Grant!
