Guilford High School: Distance Learning Technology Daniel Shay
To over come the challenge of distance learning, Daniel Shay, Guilford High School Calculus teacher was awarded funding to pilot the use of an Apple iPad to enable him to replicate what he does in the classroom. With this technology, Daniel is able to write, create diagrams and notes easily for students virtually and in class. While he is focused on teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, the capability may be used in the future and the District is interested in the overall functionality. The implications for high school math are immense. Teachers will be able to share complex mathematical concepts, doing what used to be done on a chalkboard in a format that the students can take away and continue to learn from.
