Grants Introduction

The Guilford Fund for Education (GFFE) is a non-profit, community-based organization established in 2006. The purpose of the fund is to encourage and support the creation of innovative projects that will enrich the education and growth of all students in Guilford. GFFE accomplishes its mission through its grants programs. GFFE provides funds to finance educational opportunities outside the scope of the regular operating budget of the applying agency and targets areas such as enrichment of curriculum and instruction in the classroom, in the school, or district-wide; enhancement of professional development and teacher learning; student leadership; school and community collaboration; and community participation in all aspects of education.

The GFFE Grants Committee is a diverse group of community members representing business, professional, and educational fields. The committee will judge each grant proposal on its own merits. If you have questions about the form or procedures, please contact the Grant Co-Chairs for additional information.

Grant Eligibility

GFFE is pleased to offer grants to educators and others that will facilitate and reward innovative approaches to learning and development of Guilford students, in and out of the Guilford Public Schools. Teachers, staff members, administrators (full or part time), community organizations or community residents (in collaboration with any of the above) are eligible to apply.

Imagine grant funds should enhance, not duplicate, the standard public school curriculum.

Grant requests should be creative, innovative ideas that fall outside the ordinary public school budget yet promise to augment the curriculum in a meaningful way.

The Guilford Fund for Education will fund as many qualifying projects as its resources allow. Please read the following guidelines thoroughly if you would like to seek funding from us. In order to maximize the impact of its funds, the GFFE will limit its grant awards to those applications which comply with the guidelines that follow.

  • The application must be submitted on-line.
  • Proposals must include a hard copy of the cover page with all authorizing signatures in order to be considered.
  • A member of the GFFE Grants committee will be assigned to serve as "liaison" to each applicant.

Funding

Standard grant awards range from $250 to $3000. GFFE will consider requests greater than $3000. Please contact the Grant Co-Chairs for details.
