Dave Hacket and Tom Leddy of the technology Department of Guilford High School approached the GFFE in September of 2007 about a grant for a new high-tech curriculum for the department. They believed that courses using an advanced computer guided laser cutter would better prepare their students for real world job opportunities that might be waiting for them once they graduated. The grant was awarded the following month, and the laser cutter was purchased a month later. Today, Guilford High School offers students an education in computer laser technology that could only be dreamed of before. Graduating students can now confidently apply for jobs at companies using such technology knowing they are well prepared. |
